Posted by: Mike Davis

Usually, when we approach this time of the baseball wagering season, bettors and franchises alike begin to shift their focus to the trade market. Analyses are made to determine each contender’s individual needs, and what a sleeper needs in order to make a legitimate postseason push. However, things are going to be a little a different this time around since the MLB has introduced a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Briefly, during last season’s labor negotiations, the league and its players reached a new consensus that would affect trade values. Specifically, draft-pick compensation will vary depending on a team’s economic situation. This will help balance the league and should give way to some intriguing results.
