Cubs Take Game 2, onto Game 3

While we all love when our predictions come to fruition, online MLB betting fans can all agree that the higher the stakes, and the higher the gamble, the more satisfactory the reward. That’s why the Cubs winning Game 2 of the World Series is arguably the best thing that could’ve happened (unless you’re an Indians fan).

Notwithstanding the fact that the Indians shut out the Cubs in Game 1, Chicago came dangerously close to returning the favor in Game 2. The Cubs came out of the gate with justified purpose and it translated into an early lead against Trevor Bauer, thanks to an RBI double by Anthony Rizzo that allowed Kris Bryant to run in a score. But in the bottom half of that same inning, Cubs starter Jake Arrieta would struggle with his fastball delivery. Ultimately walking Francisco Lindor and Mike Napoli back to back, before flying out Jose Ramirez to escape the sticky situation.

But all was not lost and Arrieta would find his groove from there on out, delivering several fly ball outs that were knocked down by the wind flooding in from center field. Both the wind and the cold seemed to be bothering Arrieta, but the 30-year old pitcher was still able to hold Cleveland hitless through 5 1/3 before Jason Kipnis hit a double to end his no-hit streak. Two bats later, Kipnis would score off an untamed pitch.

Arrieta would go on to leave the game with two outs in the sixth. Arrieta would be replaced by Mike Montgomery, a left handed pitcher. Montgomery would go on to strike out four batters over two innings before letting closer Aroldis Chapman come in.

As the game wore on, Chicago would keep pressuring Bauer. As most online MLB betting fans know, Bauer was struggling with a pinky injury. While it’s unclear how much the pinky played a role in his performance, the loss only helps to raise questions. In the end the final score was 5-1 which goes to show you just how close of a World Series this is shaping up to be. Game 3 will be held on Friday, October 28th. With the series tied, which team will most baseball betting sites favor this time around?

MLB Odds – World Series Game 3 – Friday, October 28th

Cleveland Indians +185
Chicago Cubs -200

Once again, the online MLB betting odds have decided to side with the Cubs. This will be the first game of the series that will be played at Wrigley Field. The wind was affecting the game last night, and it’ll be interesting to see if it affects the game once more. After all, Chicago is well known for its weather patterns.
