Battle of Sox: Tuesday’s Baseball Wagering Action
Posted by: Mike Davis
Monday’s baseball wagering action led to some pretty wild results. The Houston Astros blew out the Minnesota Twins 16-8, the Toronto Blue Jays did the Cincinnati Reds even dirtier by the score of 17-2, and the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers put on a little bit of a shootout that ended 10-8 in the Rays favor. However, even amongst these notable performances, the biggest headline to stick out involves the Washington Nationals and the San Francisco Giants.
Monday Beatdown Recap
The Nationals beat the Giants 3-0 Monday, but that wasn’t the highlight of the match. Rather, a bench-clearing brawl that broke out in the eighth inning is all any MLB betting fan can talk about this Tuesday morning.
With two outs already accounted for, Giants RHP Hunter Strickland nailed Bryce Harper in the hip with a 98 mph fastball. Harper responded by angrily pointing at the mound, and then proceeded to storm the pitcher. Halfway there, Harper decided to whip his helmet at Strickland, but failed rather humorously as the helmet sailed past its mark. The two began to exchange blows, forcing both benches to come separate them. In the end, Harper and Strickland were both ejected, with Strickland needing three San Francisco teammates to get him off the field; George Kontos, Mac Williamson and Hunter Pence – who just happens to be on the disabled list.
It’s doubtful that Tuesday’s action will rival the MMA-esque brawl we witness this past Monday, but Tuesday’s lineup will offer another baseball wagering opportunity for players to partake in. Tuesday’s action begins this evening, since the league is offering no midday contests. There are a total of 15 contests for players to choose from, with multiple contests each and every hour until 10 o’clock at night. One contest worth looking over is the matchup of the Sox: Boston vs. Chicago.

Series: Game 2 of Three Game Series, Chicago Leads 1-0

MLB Sports Odds:
Boston Red Sox -1 ½ (-110) 8 (-110) -172
Chicago White Sox +1 ½ (-110) 8 (-110) +162
Boston Red Sox
Boston doesn’t exactly have a rivalry with Chicago, but they’ll still be looking to pick up another win over a team that shares a similar name. The Red Sox suffered a loss in Game 1, but that hasn’t stopped the MLB sports odds from favoring them in Game 2. Chicago won 5-4 Monday, so it’s not like Chicago blew them out.
Thus far into the season, the Red Sox are sitting on a 27-23 record that ranks them second in the AL East. Boston is currently 3 games behind the division leading, and longtime rivals, the New York Yankees. Additionally, the Red Sox are enjoying a ½ game lead over 3rd place Baltimore. The Red Sox cannot afford a loss in Game 2 lest risk falling in the division rankings.
Chicago White Sox
This series will mark the only time this season that Chicago will face Boston and the Sox are looking to come on top over the other Sox. Chicago currently ranks third in the AL Central, thanks to their lackluster 24-26 baseball wagering record. The White Sox are 3 ½ games behind the division leading Twins, and own a ½ game lead over 4th place Detroit.
