2021 MLB Season: Suspensions, Trade Rumors, 2021 Season Updates
Posted by: Hilbert Mayer
2021 MLB Season – It’s not long that Major League Baseball has completed the short 60-game regular season in 2020. The World Series Champions, Los Angeles Dodgers have been impressive right from the start and they deserved the title. Betting on MLB has been pretty successful since bettors had the opportunity to place bets despite the short season. Tough luck for the Tampa Bay Rays after their incredible performance throughout the season. The Dodgers stole it all and they proved to be the best in the end. It’s hardly been a month since the final game has been over. Yet, there is flourishing news about rumors, suspensions and the 2021 season update.
Robinson Cano’s Suspension
An official announcement from Major League Baseball was made earlier that Rabin Cano has been suspended for the entire 2021 season. The New York Mets infielder was tested positive for doping and he has to forfeit his $24 million salary. New York Mets president Sandy Alderson made a statement of his disappointment for Cano’s violation of the MLB Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Alderson further stated that the Mets clearly support MLB’s decision on his suspension.
This has not been the first time that Robin Cano was involved in such issues. The 38-year-old player was previously involved in using drugs back in 2018. The Seattle Mariners banned Cano for 80 games. As per MLB, Cano was positive for using the drug stanozolol. Cano smashed 10 home runs for the Mets with a batting average of .316 in their 2020 season. Back in 2018, Cano was suspended for using a diuretic. The eight-time All-Star player will sit out for the rest of 2021 even before it could start.
Dodgers Linked to Francisco Lindor
There have already been rumors circulating around the 2020 World Champions, Los Angeles Dodgers. Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor has been noted with rumors of moving to the Dodgers. It turns out that Lindor is not the only player that is involved with the Dodgers at the moment. Third baseman Nolan Arenado has also been in trade rumors with the Dodgers. Arenado is an important asset for the Colorado Rockies, but change might be inevitable before the regular season kicks in.
The Dodgers are at present the best team in Major League Baseball. Corey Seager could turn out to be the best shortstop, but there is also no reason for the Dodgers to make major changes. The same went done after 2019 when the Washington Nationals traded Anthony Rendon to Los Angeles Angels. It was unexpected for the Nationals to give up Rendon, but it happened anyway. The Dodgers have a bunch of talented players they might want to hold onto. That said, Seager might not go anytime away from the Dodgers.
It’s a few months away for the 2021 Spring Training to resume and MLB has announced that February 27 will be the first day of Spring Training. The good news is that next year’s regular season is back to normal with 162 games in place. MLB Betting can never get better with all teams playing 162 games each.
