Looking Ahead to the Best Racebook Events of 2017

Last month’s horse racing betting action turned in some interesting results at the Pegasus World Cup. In addition to Arrogate claiming the largest purse, racebook fans had to bid the legend that was California Chrome farewell as the thoroughbred announced his retirement.
With his victory at the Pegasus World Cup, Arrogate has now emerged as the world’s best active racehorse. Nevertheless, the Bob Baffert-trained steed faces strong adversity from Winx, the second-best ranked horse internationally.
But don’t take my word for it; Winx was recently named ‘Best Racehorse on Turf’ by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities. Furthermore, trainer Chris Waller recently expressed his adamant opinion that the bay mare is in the best shape of her racebook career.
Those who bet on horse racing events at the Apollo Stakes and are anxious to see Winx compete again can look forward to the upcoming Chipping Norton Stakes. The G1 Chipping Norton Stakes, a 1600 m Group One weigh-for-age race for 3YOs and up, will be held on Saturday, February 25th at midnight EST at the Warwick Farm Racecourse in Sydney.
The Chipping Norton Stakes will mark the first Group one of Sydney’s Autumn Racing Carnival. The event pulls a grade field with most of the vital players of the Sydney Autumn competing in the Chipping Norton before moving on to the more prestigious horse racing betting, Group One run during ‘The Championships’ at Royal Randwick.
The odds have yet to be released for the Chipping Norton Stakes. But with a one-mile race with a $600,000 AUD purse ($460,000), fans can expect the racebook odds to reflect the fierce competition. Winx, who won the event last year, will likely open as the favorite even amongst the top 3YO and over horses.
Following the Chipping Norton Stakes, punters can look forward the George Ryder Stakes – the big event in the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival for March. The 15/16 mile G1 George Ryder Stakes is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 18th at 12:10 AM EST. Furthermore, the event is to be held at the city’s Rosehill Gardens Racecourse.
Just like at the Chipping Norton stakes, Winx was able to finish first at last year’s George Ryder stakes – the 1st winning mare in the weight-for-age race in nearly a quarter-century. Out of the last 7 George Ryder Stakes, Trainer Waller has been able to successfully couch 4 horses to victory. Waller will be looking to make it 5 out of 8 in order to earn the $1,000,000 AUD ($760,000) purse.
Winx’s horse racing betting autumn campaign will reach its zenith with the subsequent G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes to be held on Saturday, April 8th at Royal Randwick. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:25 AM EST and will feature 1 ¼ mile race. Winx will once again likely come out as the racebook favorite and is expected to be rivaled by Hartnell. The consensus around the web is that either one of these two will take home the $4 million AUD ($2.3 million) purse.
