It was an impressive finish and a highlight in Fukumoto’s career. Last year, Fukumoto won the $1 million Queen’s Place. Last May, Mighty Heart was successful in the Blame Stakes at Churchill Downs.
Arazi Passes Away
While good news developed on one side of the horseracing end, tragedy struck at the other. The legendary Breeders Cup winner Arazi died at the age of 32. Arazi was one of those noted colts for the outstanding Breeders Cup victory. Arazi also won a seven-race unbeaten campaign and many more. Allen Paulson, the owner of Arazi, said that he was the best horse anyone has ever owned. Arazi was trailed by Francois Boutin and has won the hearts of many.
Arazi won at Group two and Listed Level while finishing fifth in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Stockwell’s Mike Becker stated that the day had to come, but it was a peaceful way to go. He further stated that it was an honor to have been with a horse and a superstar. Arazi was one of those highly regarded horses in the US and the UK.
The sad demise of Arazi has been upsetting for several in the horseracing world. However, life must go on as many events are yet to take place. The Breeders Cup is all set to take place in Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The event will take place on November 5th and 6th.
