This weekend’s race will mark the final leg of the Triple Crown, so horse betting fans will want to jump on this opportunity. Let’s take a look at permanent information to this weekend’s Belmont Stakes.

To be perfectly honest, this year’s Belmont Stakes lineup lacks the stardom that both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes offered. One of the biggest blows Belmont has suffered came when trainer Mark Casse publically stated that Classic Empire, this year’s Preakness runner-up, would be out due to a foot abscess.

Classic Empire’s absence, combined with Always Dreaming – this year’s Kentucky Derby winner, forfeiture makes for a less than stellar lineup. Nevertheless, the lack of favorites leaves the door wide open for a lesser-known competitor to shock the horse betting community.

In lieu of both those winners, the online betting odds have decided to peg Irish War Cry as the favorite ahead of this weekend’s action.
