Breeders’ Cup Betting for the Discerning Bettor

There are big weekends in horse racing and then there’s the Breeders’ Cup online betting. In a very real way, this is bigger than the triple crown. After all, horses that win Triple Crown races then go on to race in the Breeders’ Cup. As ever, you can find all of the Breeders’ Cup betting and more that you could want at our site. There’s nowhere else to find everything that you need to bet on this race and any other. As you may know, there are actually nine different championship races across the course of the Breeders’ Cup. Below, we highlight some of them.

Breeders’ Cup Betting on the Races that Matter

At around 3:40 PM eastern (or 12:40 PM Pacific in Del Mar in Southern California) the fifth race of the afternoon will go on. That will be the “Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.” This truly is the definition of a “spring,” as three-year-olds and up will race for just five furlongs. As this will be on turf, this will be plenty fast as well. In this race, for many, all of their eyes will be on one of the favorites (as of this writing, at least) Glass Slippers. Going off at 6-1, this horse has more Grade 1 and Grade 2 wins than any other horse in the entire field. That’s an imposing resume…

… but not insurmountable. After all, in five furlongs, just about anything can happen. So, many bettors aren’t overlooking the other horses in the race as well. That’s why so many folks have their eyes on “A Case of You” (currently 8-1) and “Fast Boat” (at 12-1). There’s always an appeal of the underdog, the horse that, if they come through, will get you the most money. Of course, they have to win for that to happen.

There are races longer than five furlongs, of course. The very next race, for example, at 4:19 PM eastern (1:19 Pacific) the “Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile” is a one-mile race for three-year-olds and up. The favorite here is “Ginobili” at 4-1 (as of this writing) but many are thinking that “Silver State” (at 7-2) has a very real chance to emerge from this race victorious. These are just two of the nine great races that you’ll be able to bet on all day long.

Still More Breeders’ Cup Racing Opportunities

The very next race after that, just around 5 PM eastern time, is a 1 ⅜ mile race for both mares and fillies three years old and up. It’ll be on turf, so you know it’ll be fast. There are two favorites here, although that may change by the time the race actually starts. As of now, “Loves Only You” is 4-1, as is “Love.” (Sensing a theme here in the seventh race.) That said, Rougir (at 6-1) and “War Like Goddess” (at 7-2)

Speaking of springs, the “Breeders’ Cup Sprint” follows that, a six-furlong race. Your favorites here include “Dr. Schivel” at 4-1 and at 6-1 Following Sea. The Breeders’ Cup Mile is next, with the 3-1 favorite being the horse “Space Blues.” But, many believe that a horse will pull an upset in this race, particularly the horse “Smooth Like Strait.” Yes, this horse is sitting there right now at 10-1, but very well could be the one that wins it.

The race that so many will have their eyes on comes much later in the evening. The Breeders’ Cup Classic truly is classic. Here, you’ll see “Essential Quality,” a horse with a resume that speaks for itself. Yes, it’s the favorite at 3-1, but it very well could be upset. As, with these races, you never really know what’s going to happen. Of course, if you’re looking for more ways to win, you can do that all year long at our site.
