Betting on Horseracing at 2021 Pennsylvania Derby
There were eight horses that entered the 1.1810-kilometer race. Grade 1 event is prestigious with some of the entries in major stakes races, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. Medina Spirit, who topped the Kentucky Derby and placed third in the Preakness Stakes, leads the entries as he has been a consistent top-three finisher. In his last race on August 29, Medina Spirit topped the Shared Belief Stakes.
Up to face the Bob Baffert-trained horse is Hot Rod Charlie. The 10-race veteran has emerged as a consistent Top Three finisher in most stakes races. This includes the runner-up finish in Belmont, third in the Kentucky Derby, and first in the Louisiana Derby. However, the Doug O’Neill-trained colt placed seventh in his last race, the Haskell Stakes. He needs to bounce back from that disappointing finish to win the Pennsylvania Derby.
Also on the list are Life is Good, who is bidding to defeat Medina Spirit for the third time and Rock Your World, who finished second in the Shared Belief Stakes behind Medina Spirit. Other entries include Gotham Stakes winner Weyburn, Dwyer Stakes victor First Captain, Speaker’s Corner and West Virginia and Indiana Derby first-placer Mr. Wireless.
