Betting NBA Playoffs: Clippers vs. Mavericks

The Clippers and Mavericks have been a great series, but it really could go either way. The Mavs have been great, taking a three games to two lead. Of course, two and a half points is not exactly a rousing, titanic point spread. It’s entirely possible that the Mavs figure out a way to close out the series at home. Or, alternatively, win a Game 7 back in Los Angeles.

Bucks and Nets
Not everyone’s worried about closing out a series or going to a Game 7. The second round of the playoffs will open for the Nets and Bucks on Saturday. Both went through the first round almost as quickly as could be, with the Nets taking out Boston in five and the Bucks sweeping the then-defending Eastern Conference Champion Heat right out of the playoffs.
This could very well be one of those series where the defense is secondary. It could be high scoring games, high flying basketball — these could be those games that folks just love to watch. Our handicappers absolutely believe that’s how this series is going to go. For example, in Game 1, our handicappers have the “over/under” at 239.5 points. That’s a lot of firepower.
While these games could very well be high scoring, we like the Nets in Game 1. As of this writing, we’ve got Brooklyn as slight favorites at home. Of course, just like in the other game, four points isn’t exactly overwhelming. This is one that really could go either way. How do you see it breaking down?
The consensus seems to be that the Bucks will do really well inside against the Nets. But, that said, it’s unlikely that the Bucks are going to want to get into a shootout with the Nets. The Nets offense really very well could be “something else,” that kind of special weapon that makes a team very difficult to beat.
