Bet on NBA Games in One Week’s Time

The NBA offseason has seemingly gone on forever. The Raptors raised the trophy in June, but it feels like it’s been much, much longer than that. With free agency and players changing from team to team, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the landscape of the NBA has changed significantly. When the league starts up again, one week from today, the NBA will be, for all intents and purposes, a whole new place. You can bet on NBA games at our site, in the ways that you want to bet.

No Betting on Preseason Games

We mention the games, but we don’t make it possible to bet on them. These games don’t really count, so it makes sense to not be able to bet on them. The teams aren’t trying to win, they’re just trying to figure things out. Instead of betting these games, it can make more sense to take this time to do the research on the upcoming games. That way, you’ll be prepared to make the bets you want to make once these games count for real.

This last week may feel like the longest week, but when the games get here, it will all feel worth it. We have everything prepared so that you can get a bet down on the games you want. In fact, if you go to our site right now, you don’t have to wait. You can bet on NBA games on 10/22 right this moment. Now, obviously, something may happen between now and then. Perhaps there will be a last-minute trade, or (unfortunately) there might be some kind of injury between now and then. Hopefully, that’s not what happens. But, if it does, we’ll make sure the odds are adjusted before the game starts.

What to Bet on NBA Games

If you go to our site, you’ll find that most of our NBA betting lines are the money line, spread line and over/under. The money line may look a little confusing, but it’s actually pretty simple. You’ll see one team has a minus sign, whereas the other has a plus. The “minus” is the team that’s favored. Whatever that number is, that’s how much you’d have to bet to win $100 if they win the game.

So, imagine that the Sixers are favored at home with odds of -143, while the visiting Heat is +123. Following this, if you wanted to win $100, you’d have to bet $143 on the Sixers and they would have to win. By that same token, if you were to bet $100 on the Heat and they win, then you would get $223. It’s a pretty simple idea and one that people use.

The spread line is different because it doesn’t require you to pick the team that’s going to “win the game outright” to get the money. You just need your team to cover the spread  To use the example above, say that the Sixers are favored in that game by 2.5 points. So, if you were to take the Sixers to win the game, you would have to “give” the points. That means that to win, the Sixers would have to win by 5.5 points or more. Since, of course, the NBA doesn’t give out “half points,” the Sixers would have to win by six. By that same token, if the Heat wins, or if they lose by less than 2.5 points, then betting the Heat on this line would make you a winner. It’s a great way to bet and win.

Over/Under All Year Long

The “over/under” line just refers to the total points scored for the game. So, say that the over/under for our hypothetical game between Philadelphia and Miami is 211 points. If the combined score of the two teams is more than 211 points, then the over wins. So, following that logic, if the combined score of the two teams is less than 211, if it’s a defensive struggle, or both teams go cold for extended periods of time and so forth, then the under wins. As with all of this, research (and luck) are always your friends.

The NBA season is so close, you can practically feel it in the air. Before you know it, you’ll be watching your favorite teams and players (adding, of course, Zion and others). You’ve heard the phrase “the season isn’t a spring, it’s a marathon.” That’s true for the players as well as those betting on the games, too. Whether you’re betting in short stints, or you’re betting night in and night out, we’ve got the games and the betting opportunities you’re looking for. Whether you’re looking for betting action with the NBA or other leagues, head to BetNow.
