History of the Breeders’ Cup

First held in 1984, the Breeders’ Cup was launched as a year-end championship for North American thoroughbred horses and their breeders. The two-day horseracing event changes tracks annually and Hollywood Park was the first track to hold the Breeders’ Cup. The races were held in Aqueduct, Santa Anita, Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, Belmont Park, Woodbine, Arlington Park, Lone Star Park, Monmouth Park, Del Mar and Keeneland (this year’s host). Notable winners include Kentucky Derby winner Authentic, 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, Preakness Stakes topnotcher Curlin and Belmont Stakes  champion A.P. Indy.

Flightline is online horseracing odds’ top favorite due to his five-race unbeaten run. He is expected to run over the opposition and emerge victorious in the race. He’ll face a challenge with Life Is Good, Epicenter and Taiba but in the end, the four-year-old colt out of Tapit will have the Breeders’ Cup Classic added to his victories in the Pacific Classic, Metropolitan and Malibu Stakes. Flightline will go over the odds and bring in his best race of the year to win the Classic by at least five lengths over his closest pursuer.
