Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos – Sunday, September 9th
When: 4:25 pm ET
Where: Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado
Stream: MLB TV
World Cup Odds:
The Seahawks turned in a 9-7 record last season to finish 2nd in the NFC West. Despite being close to a Wild Card berth, some late season losses assured that Seattle would not make last year’s playoffs. Most of the Seahawks problems stemmed from an inability to win home games. Last season, they posted a 4-4 record at home. This was a breaking point from the home dominance we had grown accustomed to seeing from the Seahawks. Although they found success on the road, it wasn’t enough to tilt the scales in their favor. Nevertheless, Seattle still has enough talent to be a threat. Especially in an NFC West that is very much up for grabs. Ultimately, the Seahawk’s 2018 success hinges on their ability to develop their offense. Coach Carroll has been critiqued for being too forgiving with his offense. We’ll have to see if he toughens up.
Players to Watch: Russell Wilson (3,983 passing yards, 34 TD, 11 INT), Mike Davis (240 rushing yards, 0 TD, 0 F), and Doug Baldwin (991 receiving yards, 8 TD, 75 REC).
The Broncos had hopes that 2017 would be a good season for the club, since they entered with one of the best defenses in the league. However, we saw Denver’s defensive prowess crumble last season. In the end, it returned back to its former glory. But the early to midseason slump they hit cost them too many games to make the postseason and led to their 5-11 record. It’s no secret as to where Denver’s problems lie: in its offense. Particularly the quarterback position, where they haven’t been able to find a starter. Denver is hoping that either Case Keenum, Paxton Lynch or Chad Kelly step up to the plate in 2018.
Players to Watch: Paxton Lynch (295 passing yards, 2 TD, 3 INT), CJ Anderson (1,007 rushing yards, 3 TD, 1 F), and Demaryius Thomas (949 receiving yards, 5 TD, 83 REC).
